| Well today was the start of May but the weather suggest something a little different. Today we started our day travelling down highway 134 towards Keene. Our first stop was North Shore Public School where we were again greeted by some pretty enthusiastic students. Afterwards we headed along County Road 2 all the way to Hastings P.S. The school that is situated right on a hill when you come into the village. Students lined the street as we started to climb up the hill towards the driveway. High fives all around. As we continued east our next stop was Norwood Secondary, home of the Saints. We always get a great welcome from these fine teenagers. Once in the gym we were entertained by a dancing duo who had some great moves. From there we watched some head shaves and some ice cream eating contest. The 'Monkey Bike' races seem to be a hit with the students. We ended our day at Norwood District P.S where we watched as 25 students got creamed with pies by other students and teachers. I felt sorry for the custodians when we left that school, there was whip cream and pudding all over the gymnasium stage. It was then a short 10km ride into Havelock to be ready for the morning. |
