Our first stop of the day was Keith Whiteman Public School where we enjoyed more
head shaves and pony tail cuts. Joining us today were some very special guest from the Canadian Cancer Society, our very own Anita Record, unit manager here in Peterborough and Mary Hobbs, Regional Director from Ottawa.
Keeping with tradition, Cops For Cancer and Pedal For Hope have always included the signature head shave as part of their shows, and this year is no different. Joining us today at Keith Whiteman was Constable Ryan Donaldson of the Peterborough Lakefield Police Service.
Our second stop was at Armour Heights to see Ms. Self and her team of excited students.
This school was pumped up and ready to eat some ice cream. The
girls made sure they showed the boys how it was done, and although this little girl had more ice cream on her face than in her belly, she took the gold medal away from the boys !!!
Constable Mike Self of the Peterborough Lakefield Police Service joined us to have his head shaved for the cause. To be honest, I don't think he had a choice, his mom is the principal !!!!
Our third stop today was at R.F Downey Public School where we were able to spend some time with our Special Friend Matthew. Healthy, Happy and beating this dreadful disease every day. He is a true hero and a champion to us!!
One of our guest at this school was Mr. Steve MacLean, Manager of Baskin Robbins, one of the best tasting sponsors we have !!!!! Steve was there for two reasons, one because he is a huge supporter of the team, and the other reason was he was going to be a guest head shaver when his son took to the stage to get his head shaved. The only problem is nobody told his son he was coming. So it was a cool surprise !!
It was then on our bikes and riding to Omemee, where we visited Scott Young Public School. It is always a great sight seeing the students wearing their intramural team colours. They are one of the most enthusiastic group on the tour.
It didn't take long for the hair to start hitting the floor, than on to the ice cream eating. Again the girls represented by easily taking the gold medal.
Another great day on tour. We couldn't think of a better way to spend three weeks of holidays.
