Yard Sales & BBQ's

Well today was the first sign of clouds since starting the tour nearly 2 weeks ago, but it still didn't stop a few great fundraising events from happening.
The first stop was to stop and see a few members of the Pedal For Hope fan club. Sarah, Emily and their friends on Fortye Drive started off the morning by having a yard sale in their driveway. All the money raised was to support Pedal For Hope.

Mark and I made a surprise visit with the Honda Civic Police Cruiser to
join in the fun. I sampled Rice Krispie squares and drank lemonade (Thanks Cameron) as Mark showed the kids how a true guitar hero performs. Although we could only stay for a short time it was fun to joke around with the kids and see them working hard to support the cause.

At the end of the day the kids raised over $150.00 for Pedal For Hope and cleaned up their rooms in the process. A win win situation if you ask me. Great Job Kids !!!!!

From there it was off to join the team as they prepared to ride in from Young's Point to Lakefield for our annual Lakefield Community BBQ. This event is hosted by the Lakefield Lions Club and Lakefield Foodtown (formerly IGA). Larry Taylor of the Lions Club, Ian Bledsoe and Ross Bledsoe of Foodtown do an awesome job with this annual BBQ. This year Ian added in a bouncy castle for the kids and we had the Honda Civic Police Car on hand in case someone wanted to play video games.

It was great to see Danielle, Vicky, Ben, Dallas, Victoria, Eli, and their families as the team rode in. The rain held off just long enough for us to spend some time mingling with our Special Friends.

Overall it was a great time at both events !!!!
