| Today was one of the shorter riding days. After making an un-scheduled stop into the 980 Kruz & Wolf 101.5 radio stations we were on our bikes and heading for Lakefield. Our first stop was St.Pauls in Lakefield. This school was awesome, the kids were pumped up and ready to go when we rounded the corner and rolled into the driveway. The first smiling bright face we seen was our special friend Danielle and her parents. Our ice cream eating champion from Scotland took on the teachers and again came out on top. Congrats to the boys that decided to shave their heads to raise money for us as well as Constable Jeff Morgan of the Peterborough Lakefield Police Service who gave up his hair for the cause. Extra high fives go to a pair of sisters who not only cut their pony tails but went on to shave their heads bald. This is an amazing feat when a boy does it but when a little girl decides to shave her head bald for the cause, it's truly amazing. We stayed in Lakefield for a bit longer so we could visit the teens of Lakefield Intermediate. We had a blast as a few brave soles shaved their heads for us. We had a few bike races around the gym and found out that the girls are tops when it came to eating ice cream and riding a miniature bicycle. Great job girls !!!! After re-fuelling at Subway we were off to Douro to visit St.Joseph's school. It always makes me smile when the students take the time to make posters and sign welcoming the team. As we came into town we could see the signs and posters in the distance. They will now decorate the inside of our trailer when we are on tour. Inside the school we shaved an O.P.P officers head and of course ate ice cream. We will be returning back in a few weeks for a big head shaving party. We had a short 5km ride down highway #134 until we arrived at highway #7. We will start from there tomorrow when we head to Keene. |
