Already sniffling and coughing, team members spent the morning
standing in the rain getting their bikes ready for another day of riding. Today was going to be a short day for kilometers but a busy day for presentations, with 4 on the schedule today.

Our first stop was at Queen Elizabeth P.S where unfortunately due to the weather, the students couldn't come out to greet us. We were excited to see at least one student waiting for us, our good friend Cameron. No matter how many treatments, no matter how bad his day might be going, we have never seen a day that Cameron wasn't smiling. When we rode into the school in the rain, it really didn't matter once we seen Cameron smiling at us.
Once we got into the gym we turned up the music, did a little dancing and a few head shaves. The kids were excited when we arrived and three times as excited when we left. Hopefully the teachers were able to get them focussed again after the show.
It was a very very short ride to our second school, St. Annes Catholic School. It was exciting to see Jacob again this year. He has done such an amazing job fundraising over the past few years

and this year was no exception. I still remember his framed artwork displaying all the sponsors who helped him raise money for Pedal For Hope. That piece of artwork is proudly displayed in the Pedal For Hope headquarters. (AKA - My House !!!)
This year Jacob and his sister Kendra worked together to raise almost $4000.00 by themselves !!!! Awesome, and to add to it, Kendra shaved her head for the cause, pony tail first, than the rest.
Our third stop of the day was at Edmison Heights. We have been going to this school for as long as Pedal For Hope has existed. It's always a challenge to try to fit all the students and parents in the gym but we manage. Once everyone crammed in we quickly got the party started.
It was awesome to see two of our Special Friends, Millicent and Liam at the school
to be part of the team. There's no better motivation to do what we do then to be included in the lives of our SpecialFriends. We have known Milli since she was a toddler, and now she has grown up to be such a great young lady.
Big thanks to Detective Constable Ian Maxwell and his daughter Kate for cutting their pony tails for the cause, and Constable Dan Clark and his son Isaac for shaving their heads for the cause. That's how Cops For Cancer began and we will never eliminate that from our show. Police officers in the community shaving their heads to support individuals fighting this terrible disease called cancer.
Money is still trickling in but Edmison Heights is quickly reaching the $8,000.oo mark, awesome job !!!!!

Our final stop of the day was at R.F Downey where we met Mrs. Massie. It was an exciting day for her because if the students raised $2000.00 she was on the hook to kiss a goat. Well thanks to a last minute donation they met that goal and Mrs. Massie graciously followed thru with her agreement and puckered up for the cause.
Tomorrow we head out of the City to Chemong P.S Bridgenorth, than to Scott Young P.S in Omemee, and our final stop of the day will be at Leslie Frost P.S in Lindsay.
