Well the 2011 Pedal For Hope tour has officially started and as usual it is cold and rainy. We're used to it though, so it was on our bikes and out onto the wet roads we went. We started our day at the Peterborough Lakefield Police Station and it was a quick ride to our first stop of the 2011 tour, Westmount Public School.Westmount Public School has always been a special school for us and as we rode towards the school today we couldn't help but feel
a little emotional over the loss of our Special Friend Graham, who lost his battle with cancer in 2007.
As we arrived at the school we could see all the students standing outside braving the cold and the rain, just to greet us. It was a packed house in the gymnasium as the students
were treated to this years video and then a visit with our 'Gladiators'.

Our second stop was at St. Theresa's Catholic School where the students were excited to see us. As we travelled down the road with sirens wailing, we could see students running to get outside and greet us. Inside, the gymnasium shook on it's foundation as the team entertained the students with music, ice cream and mayhem !!!! Great fundraising job by Ricky Allen as he raised $1,104.50......... an awesome achievement !!!
Our third and final stop of the day was St. Catherine's Catholic School where I was greeted by one of my Special Friends, Madison. It was awesome, the kids were excited and enthusiastic to say the least. So many head shaves and pony tail cuts that we had to bring in an extra load of hats to give away. Everyone did a fantastic job fundraising and the team was
overwhelmed when the students presented us with a cheque for over $10,000. Thanks !!!!! Top fundraiser was Olivia Crawford who raised and amazing $1,535.00 !!! Way to Go Olivia !!! Top fundraising class was Mr. White's grade 4 class, Awesome job team !!!!Tomorrow is going to be another exciting day on tour and I hope to have some great stories to put on the blog tomorrow.
