2011 Day7

Although we rode all the kilometers yesterday we still had to start our day off in Willberforce where we spent the morning with students from Wilberforce Elementary. The entire school fits into one classroom !!!! We love heading way up north to visit, I don't think the kids get many visitors.

This is the first year we had to have the entire show indoors, and why you ask............because of course, it was raining again !! The rain didn't damper our spirits though, it was still hair cutting and ice cream all the way !!

After we left Willberforce we headed south to Apsley where the rain stopped for about 5 minutes so the students could line up outside and greet us. It is always nice to see Mrs. Melnik, and although her husband suggested we smear her with ice cream this year, we thought it would be best not too.

Lots of head shaves and excitement filled the gym.

**More info to be added**

Our final stop of the day was back in Lakefield at LDSS. The students packed the bleachers and overflowed onto the gym floor as we listened to one of the students perform solo on the guitar. it was great and his peers made sure he knew it by their thunderous applause at the end of the performance.

We went right into our usual head shaves and pony tail cuts but we were also treated to something a little different, spray dye. One by one students and teachers lined up to have their heads covered in bright neon pink hair spray. It was a sight to be seen.

Once we cleaned up it was time for the Morphamaniacs to take over and challenge a few students to a ice cream eating / tricycle riding relay race. It was a close race but I think the students were much faster and far more graceful than our Morphs.

We were thrilled to see some of our Special Friends in the house, Jarrod who is enjoying his high school years and Victoria who although she is no where near ready for high school, she seemed to fit right in. We also had our team member Lindsey make an appearance to show off her brand new baby. Very cute, both mom and baby. Lindsey will return next year to her full time riding position.

After Lakefield the team rode to Douro so they could be ready to visit St. Joseph's Catholic School tomorrow.
